National Wildlife Day

Let’s Get Wild About Wildlife!

National Wildlife Day was founded in 2005 by animal behaviorist and philanthropist Colleen Paige, as an effort to bring awareness of endangered animals nationally as well as globally, that need to be preserved and rescued from their demise each year. Also to acknowledge zoos and outstanding animal sanctuaries globally for everything they do to help preserve this planet's animals and educate the public about conservation - especially the youth....our animal's future caretakers and conservationists.

Would you like to work at a zoo? Not into science but love working with animals? There are a lot of paths you can take. Start by looking into a veterinary technician, dive master, wildlife law enforcement agent, zoo keeper, wildlife technician, zoo curator, landscape architect or animal TV show host as potential careers. If you daydream of working with wildlife, make your dreams a reality. Soon you could be photographing penguins or saving the turtles!
